Claude Code for Newcastle's industrial and university dev scene

Newcastle has reinvented itself faster than almost any Australian city of its size. The transformation of Honeysuckle from working dock to tech-and-lifestyle precinct, the maturing software cluster around the University of Newcastle, and the deep industrial-automation expertise tied to the Port of Newcastle and surrounding heavy industry have created an unusually well-balanced engineering market. Claude Code is finding traction across all three.

The Hunter's industrial-automation crews — teams writing PLC tooling, SCADA integrations, and the back-office software for mining, energy and logistics operations — are using Claude Code to handle the kind of unglamorous-but-critical code their businesses run on. Meanwhile, the SaaS and product teams around The Junction, Hamilton and Cooks Hill are stitching agentic workflows into customer-facing products. We run the workshop in Newcastle CBD, walkable from Newcastle Interchange and a short drive from Hamilton, Merewether and Charlestown. How much does the Claude Code workshop in Newcastle cost?
A seat is A$1,295 (incl. GST) and includes the full classroom day, morning tea and lunch, all materials, take-home Claude Code templates, and 30 days of post-workshop email support. Groups of 3+ from the same team pay A$995 per seat. We also run private team workshops on request.
What should I bring on the day?
Bring a laptop (Mac or Windows), a power cable, and any code projects you'd like to work on during the labs. We'll send you a setup guide a week beforehand so Claude Code is installed and ready before you arrive. No prior Claude experience required.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund up to 14 days before the workshop. Within 14 days we'll either transfer your seat to a later date or refund 50%. If we cancel due to low numbers you get a full refund or free transfer to another city.
Are there prerequisites for the Newcastle workshop?
Basic familiarity with a programming language and the command line is helpful, but the workshop is designed for all experience levels. The Newcastle room often spans UoN grads, industrial-automation engineers and product devs from local SaaS companies.
Can we book the whole classroom for our Newcastle team?
Yes — private team workshops work well for Newcastle industrial, SaaS and university-adjacent teams. We'll come to your Honeysuckle, Hamilton, Junction or out-of-town site and tailor the day around your stack. Contact us with team size and preferred date.
