Claude Code Training Darwin

A classroom day on Claude Code in central Darwin — Australia's most northern capital and the gateway to Asia. Led by Rye Smith, Claude Ambassador for Australia. Built for the Top End's small but tight-knit developer community: defence contractors, NT Government technologists, and the engineers behind Darwin's resources and tourism platforms.

1 day intensive
Max 12 attendees
Lunch & morning tea included
30-day post-workshop support
Run by Rye Smith — Claude Ambassador for Australia · Anthropic-recognised community lead
What you'll learn

Why Darwin

Claude Code for Darwin's small-but-mighty dev community

Darwin has a smaller developer community than the southern capitals, but a uniquely high-impact one. The Defence engineering work tied to RAAF Base Darwin, Robertson Barracks and the broader Top End force-posture initiative sits alongside the NT Government's digital transformation programs and the engineering teams behind Inpex's Ichthys LNG operation. Add in a growing tail of consultancies, agencies and lifestyle businesses, and you have a market where one good developer can have outsized impact — which makes Claude Code adoption genuinely high-leverage here.

The questions Darwin engineering teams bring to this workshop tend to be practical. How do we get value from Claude Code when our team is six people? How does it integrate with the kind of dispersed, sometimes-offline work the NT requires? How do we use it on Defence-adjacent codebases without breaking governance? The day is structured to answer those questions directly, with hands-on labs built around the kinds of projects our Top End clients actually work on.

We run the workshop in Darwin CBD, walkable from Mitchell Street and the Waterfront and a short drive from Parap, Stuart Park and Fannie Bay. Because we only run Darwin once or twice a year, the seats fill quickly — reserve early. Bring your real codebase. We'll work through it together.

Frequently asked

Questions about the Darwin workshop

How much does the Claude Code workshop in Darwin cost?
A seat is A$1,295 (incl. GST) and includes the full classroom day, morning tea and lunch, all materials, take-home Claude Code templates, and 30 days of post-workshop email support. Groups of 3+ from the same team pay A$995 per seat. We also run private team workshops on request.
What should I bring on the day?
Bring a laptop (Mac or Windows), a power cable, and any code projects you'd like to work on during the labs. We'll send you a setup guide a week beforehand so Claude Code is installed and ready before you arrive. No prior Claude experience required.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund up to 14 days before the workshop. Within 14 days we'll either transfer your seat to a later date or refund 50%. If we cancel due to low numbers you get a full refund or free transfer to another city.
Are there prerequisites for the Darwin workshop?
Basic familiarity with a programming language and the command line is helpful, but the workshop is designed for all experience levels. We've trained junior NT Government devs through to senior contractors at Defence integrators.
Can we book the whole classroom for our Darwin team?
Yes — if your team is too large to send to a public workshop or you have specific Top End or Defence constraints, we can come to your Darwin office and run a private day. Contact us with team size and preferred date.
What support do I get after the workshop?
Every attendee gets 30 days of post-workshop email support, the workshop's reference templates and CLAUDE.md examples, access to a private Slack-style channel with other alumni, and a printed cheat sheet you can keep at your desk.
