Why Canberra

Claude Code for Canberra's government and defence developers

Canberra has Australia's highest concentration of developers per capita, and the highest stakes attached to their work. The Parliamentary Triangle, Barton, Russell and the CSIRO campus host engineering teams inside agencies like the ATO, Services Australia, Defence, Home Affairs and Geoscience Australia — plus the long list of integrators and consultancies (Thales, BAE, Leidos, Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini) building alongside them. These teams are some of the most thoughtful early adopters of Claude Code in the country, because they have to be.

The questions Canberra engineers ask about Claude Code are different from those in Sydney or Melbourne. PROTECTED data handling, IRAP assessments, the right way to scope agentic tools inside an enclave, supply-chain considerations, and how Claude Code fits into existing change-management and governance frameworks. The workshop covers all of it — not as legal advice, but as practical patterns from teams who've done it.

We run the workshop in Civic, a short walk from the City Bus Station and a quick drive from Barton, Braddon, Belconnen, Woden and Russell. Whether you're a senior dev inside an agency, a contractor on a defence program, or part of a Canberra-based product startup, you'll leave with Claude Code workflows that match your stack and your governance constraints.

Frequently asked

Questions about the Canberra workshop

How much does the Claude Code workshop in Canberra cost?
A seat is A$1,295 (incl. GST) and includes the full classroom day, morning tea and lunch, all materials, take-home Claude Code templates, and 30 days of post-workshop email support. Groups of 3+ from the same team pay A$995 per seat. We also run private team workshops on request.
What should I bring on the day?
Bring a laptop (Mac or Windows), a power cable, and any code projects you'd like to work on during the labs. We'll send you a setup guide a week beforehand so Claude Code is installed and ready before you arrive. No prior Claude experience required.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund up to 14 days before the workshop. Within 14 days we'll either transfer your seat to a later date or refund 50%. If we cancel due to low numbers you get a full refund or free transfer to another city.
Are there prerequisites for the Canberra workshop?
Basic familiarity with a programming language and the command line is helpful, but the workshop is designed for all experience levels. We've trained Canberra developers across APS5 through to EL2, plus senior contractors at major defence integrators.
Can we book the whole classroom for our Canberra team?
Yes — private team workshops are particularly popular with Canberra-based agencies and integrators who need to run the day on-site. We can come to your Barton, Russell, Civic or Belconnen location and tailor the day around your security and governance constraints. Contact us with team size and preferred date.
What support do I get after the workshop?
Every attendee gets 30 days of post-workshop email support, the workshop's reference templates and CLAUDE.md examples, access to a private Slack-style channel with other alumni, and a printed cheat sheet you can keep at your desk.
