Why Auckland

Claude Code for Auckland's NZ tech hub

Auckland is the centre of gravity for software in New Zealand. The Wynyard Quarter innovation precinct, the Xero and MYOB engineering teams, the strong fintech presence (Westpac NZ, ASB, BNZ digital), and a deep agency / consultancy scene around Newmarket and Ponsonby mean Auckland engineering teams collectively ship more product than any other city in the country. Claude Code adoption here is moving fast, but quietly — in a typically NZ way.

The trans-Tasman context matters for this workshop. Auckland engineering teams often serve both NZ and Australian markets, which means Privacy Act 2020 considerations, NZ data-residency expectations, and the small-but-meaningful cultural differences in how Kiwi teams adopt new tooling all come into play. We tailor the day for an NZ audience rather than just bolting "Auckland" onto an Australian deck.

We run the workshop in Auckland CBD, walkable from Britomart and a short ride from Wynyard Quarter, Ponsonby, Newmarket and the North Shore via the Harbour Bridge. As a Kiwi pricing note: seats are NZ$1,395 (incl. GST) and NZ$1,095 for groups of 3+ from the same team — we don't dual-price-trick like some Aussie vendors do.

A seat is NZ$1,395 (incl. GST) and includes the full classroom day, morning tea and lunch, all materials, take-home Claude Code templates, and 30 days of post-workshop email support. Groups of 3+ from the same team pay NZ$1,095 per seat. We also run private team workshops on request.
What should I bring on the day?
Bring a laptop (Mac or Windows), a power cable, and any code projects you'd like to work on during the labs. We'll send you a setup guide a week beforehand so Claude Code is installed and ready before you arrive. No prior Claude experience required.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund up to 14 days before the workshop. Within 14 days we'll either transfer your seat to a later date or refund 50%. If we cancel due to low numbers you get a full refund or free transfer to another city.
Are there prerequisites for the Auckland workshop?
Basic familiarity with a programming language and the command line is helpful, but the workshop is designed for all experience levels. We've trained {CITY} grad devs through to staff engineers at major NZ banks and SaaS companies.
Can we book the whole classroom for our Auckland team?
Yes — private team workshops are popular with Auckland Xero-adjacent teams, banks and consultancies. We'll come to your Wynyard Quarter, Newmarket or Ponsonby office and tailor the day around your stack and your NZ regulatory context. Contact us with team size and preferred date.
What support do I get after the workshop?
Every attendee gets 30 days of post-workshop email support, the workshop's reference templates and CLAUDE.md examples, access to a private Slack-style channel with other alumni, and a printed cheat sheet you can keep at your desk.
